Carillon Ceremony welcomes the Class of 2026 to the Alumni Association

Nearly 300 seniors were officially inducted into the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Alumni Association during this year’s Carillon Ceremony, a meaningful milestone that marked both an ending and a beginning. While bittersweet for the graduating class, the celebration also signals an exciting transition, as these Petrels prepare to return to campus in a new role: alumni.

This year’s “Senior Sunset†began with a rare and memorable experience inside the Carillon of Lupton Hall. Tucked away behind a narrow, old staircase rarely explored—even by those who work nearby—the tower offered seniors a special glimpse into one of ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪s most storied spaces.

On the third floor, students flipped through Carillon registry books filled with signatures from generations of alumni, adding their own names to this living history before ascending the tower itself. At the top, they paused to take in sweeping campus views, seeing the place they’ve called home from a new perspective as they prepare to step into what’s next.

“The Carillon ceremony was such a fun way to end senior year,†said Keimarya Rivera ’26. “Going up in the bell tower, ringing the bell, and looking over the entire campus with my best friends was the best way to end my college experience. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has done so much for me, so I’m excited to be an alum and give back to the community that has changed my life.â€

Members of the Student Alumni Association also left their mark in the SAA Study Room, signing the walls in 315-A, a tradition that connects them to those who came before and those who will follow.

Back downstairs, the celebration continued with music bingo hosted by alumni Chris Harvin ’08 of . Seniors enjoyed dinner, drinks and decorating their graduation caps, along with the cherished tradition of signing one another’s senior shirts.

The night carried on with karaoke, where classmates sang everything from “Time of Our Lives†by Ne-Yo and Pitbull and “See You Again†by Wiz Khalifa, embracing the moment and making the most of their final celebration together.

Outdoors, students gathered for photos, bubbles and a photobooth experience provided by alumni Zuri Johnson ’23 of , capturing memories to carry with them long after graduation.

As members of the newest alumni class, graduates are encouraged to stay connected:

Once a Petrel, always a Petrel!
