Every year, graduating seniors gather in the Turner Lynch Campus Center for “Destination Day” to celebrate each other’s success and share their post-graduation plans.
The event, hosted by the Career Development Office, included ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø merchandise giveaways, gift card raffles and refreshments. Seniors also wrote thank-you cards to faculty and staff who have impacted them during their time at OU.
Before attending Destination Day, students were asked to complete the First Destination Survey (FDS), which asked about their post-graduation plans. The survey helps Career Development assist students who are still seeking jobs and informs future graduates about career possibilities.
Seniors who completed the survey were entered into a drawing for QuickTrip gas cards and a $500 Delta Airlines gift card. Three lucky winners for the gift card raffle were announced at the celebration:
- Jessly Linares ’26, Biology
- Danielle Moreno ’26, Psychology
- Sydney Dooley-Smith ’26, Communication Studies
Many of the Class of 2026 Petrels have already secured post-graduation job placements at different employers, including Rough Draft Atlanta, the Alliance Theatre, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Angel Lopez Clinic, Peace Corps and Puppy Haven at Chastain. Additionally, several students will continue their education at various graduate schools, including Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Graduating seniors who have not yet completed the are still encouraged to participate, even if they don’t know their next steps. Hear from some seniors about their post-graduation plans in the video below.
